On Monday 29th June, The Business of Cities moved into its new home at The Urban Innovation Centre. The Urban Innovation Centre is a newly opened hub for businesses, academics and city leaders who are working to develop the cities of the future. The Centre has been created by The Future Cities Catapult, an organization which is part of a network of world-leading technology and innovation centres established and overseen by the UK government’s Technology Strategy Board. The Catapult are the Urban Innovation Centre’s hosts and flagship resident, but other occupiers include Geovation (a pioneering geospatial data lab run by the Ordnance Survey), Better Cities, and the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities.
The Urban Innovation Centre hosts regular events, lectures and workshops on the subject of the future of cities, many of which are open to the public. A list of upcoming events can be found on the Urban Innovation Centre’s website, where tours of the Centre can also be arranged.
The Urban Innovation Centre is based at 1 Sekforde Street, London, EC1R 0BE. For details of how to find us, please see the Contact page.
